Really? A thousand words?

So we are doing some decorating right? Jen wants a picture wall and I’m super nit picky about doing stuff like that. I have a weird thing about not wanting to put holes in walls. I’m not sure what that’s about. Maybe I don’t like fixing holes in walls and inevitably I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing that if I make the holes. The idea of putting 500 pictures on a single wall almost put me over the edge. It took Jen like 2 weeks to get me to even think about it.

The plan I came up with was to get all the pictures together and lay them out. I thought this would prove that it was a bad idea and Jen would decide we didn’t have enough pictures or something. Didn’t work. Once we argued over the layout of the pictures for a couple of hours my plan B was that maybe she would decide she didn’t like me anymore and we wouldn’t have to do it. Didn’t work. She likes me less now, but I still had to hang the pictures. Once we had the layout I decided that it would be a great idea to take a picture of the pictures as we agreed on them. Two reasons for this. One it would serve as a template to work off of once we picked the pictures off the floor and two it would provide evidence to the court should anything happen to me during this project. I’m just sayin’.

Here is the agreed upon layout. From high atop a barstool, which is curiously where I might end up after this is over, picture number 1.

Here is the finished product.

pictures2Now for anyone with a really keen eye you might notice something that almost was really funny…if you aren’t me. AFTER I had taken the “This is what we agree upon” picture what do you think happens? Jen decided that she didn’t like some of the pictures in their frames and swapped them out. This made putting the puzzle back together slightly more fun.

Final note. I gave Jen a hard time in this post, but it was a good idea and she chose some great shots of our family. For those of you that notice your pictures aren’t included? I’m still pondering if you are worth another hole in a perfectly good wall.

People are very crafty in Florida

Ok. I posted this picture on Facebook and got zero responses. This is seriously one of those pictures Jay Leno puts on his show. Did no one seriously let the owner of this Karate school know that his name had some sort of funny double meaning? The crazier aspect of the name and the following picture is that people would take their daughters to Karate class, buy them this uniform and THEN parade them around in the uniform!

The second funny picture of the Wesley Chapel craft show is of the same ilk. The process that had to occur for this guy to print a sign that says this is amazing to me. Here is how that process goes.

a – Come up with an invention and a name for your invention

b – Tell your friends and neighbors about it – at this point someone needed to do this guy a favor.

c – Print things up with the name of the invention – at this point the sign store should have asked if they misspelled the name of the thing.

d – Put up your sign and try to sell your invention – at this point someone like me should have pointed it out to the guy.

I just wanted to run up to the guy and yell “You get an F!” – Here’s the invention:

Grader

C’mon! Grader?

Just for fun here are the definitions from the dictionary of the two words he is confused about.

grad·er   (grā'dər)
n.

  1. One that grades, especially:

    1. One who grades students' work.

    2. A piece of heavy equipment used to level or smooth road or other surfaces to the desired gradient.

grat·er   (grā'tər)
n.  One that grates, as an implement with sharp-edged slits and perforations on which to grate foods.

The last picture from the craft fair is not as funny as it is “Florida”. We speculated on the name of this ice cream stand on our way in, but I couldn’t come up with anything except they named it something dumb so that people would come up and ask why they named it something dumb. At that point people would feel guilty about asking and buy ice cream. Nope. It’s religious in nature. Something about the birth and the death of Jesus. “On the third day he rose from the dead…” I guess on the 4th day Jesus decided on a scoop of Rocky Road with sprinkles. Anyhow…here’s that picture.

Shutterfly updated

The huge repository of pictures has been updated by Jen. It is probably what made her sick.

Remember the other day when I mentioned that I have trouble with doors around here? I tried to remember the word for push or pull. There’s a reason I keep getting whacked by a door.

Here’s why….it’s a

A thousand words times 1100?

For those of you that haven’t caught on, there is a link to our trip pictures on the right…click the “Shutterfly” link.

I just added up all the album picture totals and it seems there is about 1100 pictures there. In the age of digital photography you have the luxury of clicking until you get it right. I guarantee you that many of these pictures fall into this category, but there are a lot of moments captured in them that we may not have written about. Once we get home we will probably sift through them and caption most of them. Take a look if you have about 12 hours and the need to see my handsome face. Locander…it’s blocked for you.

Kaas!

Here are a few pictures that haven’t made the pages yet.
